Eight-year-old Drake is snatched up by the King's soldiers and taken to the castle where he is told by the wizard Griffith that he has been chosen to be a Dragon Master like Ana, Rori, and Bo--and his first task will be to discover whether his dragon, Worm, has any special powers.

When wizard potions fail to heal Ana's sick dragon, Drake's dragon uses his special powers to take the Dragon Masters on a perilous quest across the world in search of a cure.

When Drake discovers that his friend and fellow Dragon Master, Bo, is trying to steal the Dragon Stone, he wonders if the dark wizard might be behind it, and he must try to find a way to protect the stone while keeping Bo's family out of danger.

Not all of the wizards who were freed from Maldred's time-trap were good wizards; one of them, Astrid, is planning on working a spell that will bring to life the bones that lie scattered in the Fortress of the Stone Dragon, bones that belonged to creatures much bigger than dragons--and when his friends are turned to stone it is up to Drake to find a way to save them, including his own dragon, Worm.

Lalo the baby lightning dragon has been taken by Eko, a rogue Dragon Master, who ran away with her thunder dragon years before--now she is back looking to make allies of the other dragon masters, and so gain control over all of the dragons in Griffith.

The dark wizard Maldred has trapped dragon master Eko as well as wizards who have opposed him, all of them frozen in time and space inside a wall in his hideout; so Drake and Worm set out to seek the help of the Time Dragon--but when a imp named Beezel interferes Drake ends up back in his own past, and he must find a way to get back to the present.

Seong-Min is the only dragon powerful enough to stop the chaos the Maldreds are causing! But Ji-Min warns that the Chaos Dragon...

Drake and Bo are sent to Gothica to retrieve a powerful dream orb from the castle of the evil wizard Zoltan--but first they must enlist the help of a young dragon master and his ghost dragon, Phantom.

Drake and the other Dragon Masters help Wildroot, a Flower Dragon whose home is in danger, find his Dragon Master Oskar after Oskar's identity is revealed to them by the Dragon Stone.

Drake has a dream about a new dragon that is somehow trapped in a cave, so Drake, Ana and their two dragons set off to find the Rainbow Dragon's dragon master, Obi, and together they must rescue Rainbow dragon, Dayo, from Kwaku, a giant spider, who spins a deadly web.
